In all the years I spent in the league as both a player and in the front office, I have always thought that the players needed more in the way of financial education. These guys get coached their entire lives on how to succeed at the game and to become the best they can be. Yet, when they make it and get paid a lot of money – most have not been coached at all on how to succeed with their finances. It’s a whole new ballgame they’ve entered. Most times, that’s the equivalent of taking a guy off the street and putting him up against LeBron. We all know how that will end and that’s why I’m proud to say I’m now part of the Edyoucore team and mission to make sure players in every sport get the coaching they need and deserve to succeed off the court for many years to come.
