Baltimore, Md. — Edyoucore Sports & Entertainment, a company providing financial education and consulting services designed to educate, equip and empower individuals to make more informed business, financial and lifestyle decisions, today announced that former NBA player, Greg Oden has joined its team as an Athlete Advisor. In his role, Oden will offer his experiences to shape Edyoucore’s curriculum for amateur and professional athletes, as well as participate in live financial education practice sessions conducted for professional sports teams/leagues, college athletics programs, associations and more.
Edyoucore is working to change the trend of inadequate financial literacy among athletes and entertainers. It offers a financial education program, “Playbook for Success,” for groups and individuals, as well as personalized consulting services. Playbook for Success pairs in-person practice sessions to a customized digital platform enabling participants to stay engaged for long-term learning by completing various modules.
“I am looking forward to helping Edyoucore grow and reach as many athletes as we can to stress the importance of financial education,” Oden said. “This is a great opportunity for me to do something positive and share my personal story so that we can help people make smart decisions that will set them on a healthy financial path in life.”
Edyoucore is not affiliated with firms offering financial products, investments, legal services, contract negotiations, representation, etc. It also does not offer referrals to vendors. The company is focused on educating individuals to provide them with knowledge that will help them make their own decisions when selecting various advisors.
Oden joins former NBA All-Star, Antoine Walker and 11-year NFL veteran Bart Scott who have been serving as athlete advisors for Edyoucore since its inception. Edyoucore was recently launched by financial services veteran, Drew Hawkins and consists of a team of industry veterans.
“Greg is going to be a tremendous asset for Edyoucore and we are thrilled to have him on our team,” Hawkins commented. “His story will resonate with our audience and he will be able to provide insight that will make our curriculum more authentic.”
