Edyoucore proudly congratulates Founder and CEO Drew Hawkins as he concludes an extraordinary eight-year tenure as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture.
Throughout his leadership, Hawkins helped guide one of Maryland’s most important cultural institutions through a period of significant growth, impact, and transformation. His vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the Museum’s mission strengthened its governance, expanded its community reach, cultivated meaningful partnerships, and helped position the institution for continued success.
The Lewis Museum recently recognized Hawkins’ contributions by adopting a formal resolution documenting his accomplishments and lasting impact on the organization. In addition, the Museum announced the dedication of the W. Drew Hawkins Reception Area and Terrace, honoring his years of service and transformational leadership.
Under Hawkins’ leadership, The Lewis Museum navigated periods of both challenge and opportunity while continuing to advance its mission of preserving and sharing Maryland’s African American history and culture. His efforts helped ensure that the Museum remains a vital educational and cultural resource for future generations.
While stepping down as Board Chair, Hawkins remains deeply connected to the institution and optimistic about its future.
“The Lewis Museum has been one of the great honors of my life,” Hawkins said. “I have tremendous faith in the Museum’s leadership, staff, and incoming Board Chair. The momentum we’ve built together is strong, and I am confident the Museum’s best days are still ahead.”
At Edyoucore, we are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the leadership Drew demonstrates every day. His commitment to education, opportunity, and community impact continues to inspire our team, our partners, and the individuals we serve.
