Professional athletes, like millions of other people around the United States, are not working while the various leagues have suspended play due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

While NBA and MLB players are still getting paid, athletes face a number of challenges that could affect them financially. Businesses they own or are invested in may be closed or struggling. Family and friends who are in need of money are asking them for cash.
